I make work that does good and does well. And I build the teams that make it happen.

For the past 18 years, that’s meant working in agencies and a consultancy, for brands including Avon, Haleon, IKEA, Unilever and John Lewis Partnership. Most recently, I was at Given, a purpose and sustainability consultancy, reporting to the founder and CEO and sitting on the exec team and board. I built the creative team and ran our own brand. Given is now part of Anthesis, where I’m a Creative Director at Revolt.

I like building teams as much as building ideas. At Hodes, I grew a team from 3 to 12. At Given, from 4 to 9, plus a creative strategy function from scratch. I’ve hired dozens of people and supported them with their day-to-days, tough moments and progression. Good teams enjoy working together. That’s not a perk; it’s how you get the best work out of people and a stable team.

I’m a big-picture thinker, happiest with a good strategist and a hard problem. I direct design, words and film. I started out as an advertising copywriter, and kinda still am one.

I also have two Masters degrees. Biochemistry from Oxford, means complexity doesn’t scare me. Illustration from Falmouth, means I can think up how to visualise pretty much anything. Outside work, I’m a charcoal artist. My drawings are sold as prints and gifts, stocked at the National Museum of Scotland, and once made a surprise appearance on Sara Cox on Saturday Kitchen Live.
